ob Purpose
To provide compassionate, professional, and dedicated care for individuals within their own home, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while promoting independence and dignity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support mobility and transfers, including the use of mobility aids where required.
- Administer or prompt medication as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Carry out light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Offer companionship, emotional support, and engage in social activities with the client.
- Monitor the client’s health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns promptly.
- Support with shopping, attending medical appointments, and other errands as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily logs and medication records.
Requirements
- Previous experience in care, ideally in a live-in role (preferred but not always required).
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Physically able to carry out care duties.
- Flexibility and reliability.
Working Conditions
- Live-in arrangement with accommodation and meals provided.
- Working hours to be agreed (typically with scheduled rest breaks and days off).
- The role may require evening, weekend, and holiday coverage depending on client needs.
