Finance Reporting Assistant – Summer Contract
Bajada Group are looking for a Finance Reporting Assistant to support the improvement of our finance reporting processes over the summer period.
Our business already uses Syft, connected to Xero, for reporting. However, some key finance processes are still maintained in Excel. The aim of this role is to help us transition those processes into Syft wherever possible, improving efficiency, consistency, and visibility across our reporting.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong interest in finance, reporting systems, data structure, and process improvement, who is comfortable working with numbers and understands how financial data needs to be organised and mapped correctly.
Key responsibilities
- Support the setup, review, and improvement of reports in Syft
- Help migrate reporting processes currently managed in Excel into Syft
- Assist with the design and setup of reports such as:
- budgeting
- forecasting
- management accounts
- cashflow reporting
- Review account structures, mappings, and reporting logic to ensure accurate output
- Work with finance data from Xero and help ensure it flows correctly into Syft
- Identify inconsistencies, gaps, or structural issues in existing reporting files
- Help standardise and document reporting processes
- Liaise with the finance team to understand reporting requirements and turn them into practical report structures
Candidate profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a background in finance, accounting, economics, data, or a related field
- Has a good understanding of financial reports and management information
- Is comfortable working with data mapping, structure, and logic
- Has strong Excel skills and is confident working with financial data
- Is organised, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Can understand how data should be structured to produce meaningful reports
- Is proactive and able to work independently while collaborating with the finance team
- Desirable skills
- Familiarity with Xero
- Familiarity with Syft Reporting or similar finance/reporting tools
- Understanding of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow reporting
- Experience improving or redesigning spreadsheet-based reporting processes
What the role will involve
By the end of the summer, the successful candidate will have helped us move more of our finance reporting away from manual Excel files and into a more structured and scalable reporting environment within Syft. The role will suit someone who enjoys combining finance knowledge with systems thinking and data organisation.
