Technical Assistant
Reports To: Head of After Sales/ After sales Coordinator/ Technician
Role Purpose
The Technical Assistant is responsible for supporting maintenance, reactive works, servicing, and installation activities across assigned projects and client sites. The role is intended for a capable and practical individual who can work independently on clearly defined low-risk tasks, while also supporting technicians and project teams to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily maintenance, reactive works, servicing, and installation activities across mechanical, electrical, and building services systems as directed.
- Support equipment installation works, including site preparation, unloading and positioning of materials, basic assembly, supports, containment, pipework assistance, cable support, insulation preparation, and general finishing works.
- Attend approved jobs independently where the scope is clear, such as:
- deliveries and collections
- follow-up site visits
- simple inspections
- minor support works
- basic installation tasks
- straightforward remedial works
- Report site conditions accurately, including access issues, incomplete works, shortages, delays, safety concerns, and any variation from original scope.
- Assist technicians in identifying labour, material, and sequencing requirements for ongoing works.
- Maintain good housekeeping on site and ensure all work areas are left clean, organised, and safe.
- Complete timesheets, job notes, checklists, material usage feedback, and any required basic reporting accurately and on time.
- Ensure company tools, PPE, mobile phone, and where assigned, company vehicle, are used responsibly and kept in good condition.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and client site rules at all times.
- Escalate technical uncertainty, customer complaints, health and safety issues, or changes in job scope promptly to the relevant supervisor.
- Represent the company professionally on site through good conduct, communication, punctuality, and care in workmanship.

Requirements
- Basic technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or general maintenance works.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a technical support, installation, maintenance, or construction-related role preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic site equipment safely.
- Basic understanding of site practices, materials handling, and safe working methods.
- Ability to read basic drawings, instructions, and work schedules is an asset.
- Good communication skills in English; Maltese is considered an asset.
- Valid driving licence preferred.
- Physically fit and capable of working on active sites.
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow into a more technical role.
